Margaret Jurd College is delighted to announce that its Executive Director and Company Secretary, Stephen Phillips FGIA FCG FAICD JP, has been recognised among Australia’s Top 100 Governance Professionals for 2025 – his second consecutive year receiving this national honour.

This recognition reflects Stephen’s deep commitment to governance as a ministry of service, one that upholds the College’s mission and the Uniting Church’s broader calling to act with integrity, compassion, and accountability. Through his leadership, governance is understood not merely as process, but as a means of stewardship that supports transformation and hope in the lives of young people.

“Good governance is ultimately about stewardship and trust,” said Mr Phillips. “At Margaret Jurd College, governance is not simply about compliance, but about creating the conditions where compassion, accountability, and innovation can flourish. This recognition really belongs to our whole community, the Board, Principal, and staff – who live out our mission with such dedication each day.”

“Stephen’s leadership reflects a deep commitment to integrity and transparency. He continues to set a benchmark for stewardship and strategic thinking,” Mr Twist said. “His work ensures that our governance practices remain mission-focused and grounded in the values that enable our staff and students to thrive.”
